Week 45 In St. Thomas

We had a nice time at Pickle Ball on Monday morning .  Darren Christensen, from Vernal, Utah, joined us.  He was at church Sunday and the Elders invited him to play with us. Neither he nor Elder Fineanganofo had ever played before, but they both did great!  After the game, he was talking about taking the Elders to lunch and then he asked us too!  We told the Elders to just to call us:  Elder and Sister Mooch!  Anyway, we enjoyed a nice lunch with them after we were all cleaned up.   What wonderful people.  They told us that where ever they go, they always seek out the missionaries and take them to lunch or dinner.  I love that and when when we get  back from our mission, we are going to do that too!  That is definitely one of the nicest parts of being here:  meeting so many members from all over the country.   Thanks Christensons for the yummy lunch! After lunch, we went to do our grocery shopping and ra...

Week 44 in St. Thomas

We played our last Pickle Ball Games with Elder Sigcha and Elder Niederhauser early Monday morning before transfers.  It was a bitter battle, but alas!  We won 4-3.  They improved so much these past few weeks and honestly gave us a run for our money today! See our "net" still playing with a rope! Right now on the island, there are these " Christmas Palms " that are showing these beautiful big red balls.     They really are so pretty!  But it  is honestly the ONLY thing that reminds us of Christmas except the array of Christmas decoratons and such in Kmart.  We are not sure that we can feel much like Christmas in 80 degree weather! These little origami shirts are kind of a hallmark in the Puerto Rico Mission.  The Elders use them for thank-you notes and leave them in the homes of people who are kind to them.(aka feed them....)  They simply write a little note on the back of them.  I just think they are so adorable ...

Well, the week started out with a great Pickle Ball tournament with the Elders and the Olsons.  So two teams would play a game to 8 and then the winners would stay in and the losers would sit out.  We had a great time and I am happy to report that the Elders won 3 of the 8 games!  Shout out to Margo for being a great sport!  It was her first time, and now if I can just convince them to put a Pickle Ball Court in their yard, it will have been even a better success!!!! After Pickle Ball, we car  ferried over to St. John and went to Hawk's Nest Beach.  One of our favorite beaches there. It was such a beautiful day there..... You can't tell, but that is Margo and I out there in the beautiful water.  I am sad that we didn't take more pictures! A bit windy! Took them to Mountain Top on Tuesday after District Meeting and then took them to a lesson with us. On Wednesday we ferried over to Water Island .  We had never be...
