Week 42 in St. Thomas

Monday started out just the way we like it:  Pickle Ball.  The Elders are getting better all the time, but alas......we still beat them!  They are thinking that one of them is going to be transferred on November 11th, so next Monday will be their last shot to beat us!  We shall see how it goes....stay tuned!  After that, we stopped by the Red Cross Offices to have some training on Disaster Training that is going to be done on Tuesday and Wednesday to employees of a large company here.  We are just helpers to the director.  Then we stopped by Brewers Bay and snorkled and soaked in the ocean for a little while, came home and did our preparations for the week.  We also took dinner to a couple of people in the Branch that haven't been feeling very well.  So it was a busy Monday.
Still no net....

Looks like hurricane season is coming to an end in these parts:  Tuesday there were 4 huge cruise ships in St. Thomas! Three in this bay and one in Crown Bay. Total population on the ships: 12,370!
Tuesday night we had our Branch "Trunk or Treat".  We dressed up as tourists......I think Dick missed the memo and  actually dressed up as a nerd though....

It was a fun activity and those that planned and carried it out, did a lot of work!  The kids definitely had a great time and so did we!  The Elders dressed up as missionaries and switched name tags....

One more picture from our Trunk or Treat.

And  from our California kids:  if this isn't the cutest little "Sandlot" group of kids, I don't know what is?  Especially little Wendy Peppercorn there in the sunglasses!!!!

Here are the pictures of the rest of the crew....just missing Talor.  Guess he is too old for Halloween now!

Eliza and Briggs-the Princess and Harry Potter

Claire Bear-the football player

Chloe the 6 foot garaffe

The Maxstir of the Milwaukee Bucks

La - a true Giant Fan

Gordie's face says it all!!!

On Thursday we had a visitor from the cruise ship:  Harmony of the Sea.  Rory, our friend from way back when we lived on Serpentine Drive came!  We had a great day together.  She bought a Caribbean Hook Bracelett and we had lunch, took her to Mountain Top and ended at Brewers Bay.  Make new friends but keep the old:  One is silver and the other gold!

In my studies this week I ran across this thought from President Holland.  I really do just love this so much, so thought I would share it:

On Saturday morning during our walk, we saw these minature ponies out and around eating from the side of the road, there were four of them about as big as a large dog.

You just never know what you will see around here!

On Saturday afternoon, the Olsons flew in for a visit!  We are so happy to have them here!

Sunday night we had Prince and Vicky over to dinner.  It was Prince's birthday, so it was fun to celebrate that with the Olson's and the Elders.

Well that is about it for our week. Thankful to be here at this time and in this place and pray that we are doing what the Lord would have us do.   Hope you all had a great week too.  Stay strong and steadfast.
Love,
Dick and Donna
