Week 7 In St. Kitts

I really cannot believe it is March already! I didn't take too many pictures this week for some reason, but it was a good week of little spurts of joy along the way.......
Monday evening we had a lesson with a friend that I met while getting my hair done last week. He is from India and came here with a group of people from Mumbai to work at a salon that happens to be directly across from our apartment! I told him about why were were here while he was doing my hair and told him about the Book of Mormon. So when I was leaving he asked if he could get "the book." I said of course you can....and so we are teaching him now. He grew up as a Christian. We had one of our members, Catalina, come to the lesson. When I asked the question to her: "what does Christ mean to you?" She said that He was her friend......I just loved that simple response. I think FRIEND is one of my favorite words for Christ.

We teach a little family on Tuesday evenings and their little girl jumps up on Elder Garrison's lap every single time. The children here just melt our hearts. |

As the end of our mission nears, we are trying NOT to do this...... |
We got these pictures of some art that our 10 year-old grandson Ty had done after they came to St. Thomas at the end of the year. Each cutting on the top piece was symbolic of something that we did on the trip and the bottom one turned out to represent the sea trutles. I thought the art was so creative and so innovative. I love how his mind works.......

Part of my personal study since October has been participating in an on-line study of what President Nelson asked us to do to prepare for the upcoming General Conference. It has been so rewarding to do this study and to read and study the scriptures that he asked us to study. The founder of this group: Emily Belle Freeman has such a gift to teach and to write. It is an instagram group so is open to one and all. If you haven't checked it out, do it! I loved the post that she put up this week about her experience in the Sacred Grove.

After that, we had an appointment with a lady that we had never met before, so it is always tricky finding houses. She explained to us that the house had a "horse" on top of it. We thought she said it was a house with a house on top. So we were looking for a 2-story house. That made no sense until we saw this:
How funny is that??? She was a really sweet lady and we enjoyed getting to know her and teaching her a little bit about the gospel.
That is our week! So many little tender mercies each day and such a pleasure meeting so many wonderful people. Thanks for your love and support. Stay strong and steadfast.
Love,
The Garrisons
